Plodding Along
Progress has been slow and not so steady on my Primavera socks. I have knit through the heel turn and am starting the gusset decreases for the first sock. I’m not entirely unhappy with how the socks are turning out, but I’m not really happy with them either. For lack of a better word, I’m […]

With Just Inches to Spare
I’ve finished the outer layer of my Luffe mittens. The closer I got to the end, the more nervous I was. I had one ball of Telemark yarn in black (and of course, it is a discontinued yarn) and I was worried about running out. I ended up having enough, with just this much left […]

Oh Boy.
Kiddo has requested a puppy stuffie. He’s not much of a stuffie kid, but is insisting that he needs one. I’m not one to say no to Kiddo’s request for hand knit goods, so I’be cast on for a puppy, using Puppy Love pattern. I let Kiddo have input on the yarn, and he found […]

Stone Layers
I’m making good progress on my Stone Layers shawl. I have the set up rows and the first couple of color changes done. I’m excited about how fast it is going, but need to remember that I’m increasing every other row, so progress with slow down. The yarn is Sunshine Sock from Sunshine Yarns. A […]

Roundabout
I’ve already started my next pair of socks. This time, I’ve decided to go with the Roundabout Socks. It seems like a pretty simple pattern, and it has been in my Ravelry Queue forever (there are a lot of patterns like that). I’m using Bohemian 80/20 which is from one of my favorite dyers, Bohemia […]

Best Laid Plans
Remember back in this post, when I said I wasn’t starting any new projects until Both the Shark Attack Blanket and the Padfoot Socks were done. I think we all knew that wasn’t going to happen. Yup, that’s the yarn all balled up and ready to go for my Stone Layers Shawl. The yarn was purchased […]

Testing Out Shark Attack Blanket
Kiddo decided to try out the almost completed Shark Attack blanket. I think he’s a fan. I’m knitting away on the teeth. Each individual tooth goes quickly, but I have to make a lot of them. The strip of teeth needs to be long enough to go all the way around the shark’s mouth.
Progress
I’m getting close to finishing the Shark Attack blanket for Kiddo. I have the body and fins knit and assembled. The original pattern had a pelvic fin on the bottom, but I couldn’t get that to look right, so I left it off. The fins are lightly stuffed to give them a little more body. […]

Halfway Point
Ta-dah! The first of my Padfoot Socks is done! Lots of knitters talk about the dreaded “Second Sock Syndrome,” where they struggle to find the motivation to start or finish that second sock. So far in my knitting journey, it is the opposite for me, the second sock seems to go faster than the first. […]
WIP Wednesday: Car Knitting
In the past week, I have spent about 10 hours total in car traveling for work. Luckily, both times, I have been traveling with coworkers, who drove, which allowed me to take advantage of one of the big perks of traveling for work. Paid knitting time. When selecting an appropriate project for car knitting, […]
