Stone Layers

I’m making good progress on my Stone Layers shawl. I have the set up rows and the first couple of color changes done. I’m excited about how fast it is going, but need to remember that I’m increasing every other row, so progress with slow down.

The yarn is Sunshine Sock from Sunshine Yarns. A while back, they offered kits for this project in a few different colorways. It is one of those things that sat in my stash because I kind of forgot about it (which is exactly why I need to make sure that my stash is organized and cataloged).

The pattern, which is a combination of a slip stitch pattern and garter stitch, calls for you to go up and down one size of needles each time you switch between the two. I’ve decided not to do that and just to knit the whole shawl on size 4 needles.

Although you can see the difference on the edge, I’m confident it is something that can be fixed with some blocking.
